Obituary of William "Bill" Kenneth Omand

Bill passed away, peacefully, at the K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital on Friday, October 12, 2018 at the age of 89.

Bill is lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years, Trudy (nee Zettel), children Jane Sabucco and husband Robert, Barbara Hurlston and husband Garth, and Jim Omand and his wife Karen, grandchildren Michael (Amanda), Matthew, Vanessa Sabucco, Kathryn, Bradley Hurlston, Cheyanne, Tara Omand and great-grandson Tyler Sabucco.  He is survived by his sisters Grace Abs and Marjorie Fraser and many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents, Wilson Omand and Edith Hammond, brothers Fraser, Bruce, Jack, Robert, Frank and sisters Helen Doucett and Kay Tuchlinsky.

Born, raised and a resident of Wellesley for 70 years, Bill proudly raised his family in his hometown.   Bill and Trudy chose to live their retirement years in the community of Trinity Village in Kitchener.

Before retirement, Bill worked for EMCO Supply over 30 years. His greatest source of pride and joy was his family and grandchildren, who he never failed to express his love for.  Bill was a thoughtful and contemplative man who enjoyed going for long walks, gardening, watching sports and spending quality time with friends and family.

The Omand family will receive relatives and friends at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 from 4 – 6 p.m. and on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.  A private service for immediate family and interment will follow.
