Obituary of Gerard Briere
BRIERE, Gerard “Jerry”
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at St. Mary’s Hospital, Kitchener, on Friday, October 12, 2018 at the age of 81 years.
Survived by his loving wife and best friend of 60 years, Doris, his children, Robert (Debbie) Briere, Carolyn (Tony) Demeis, Barbara-Ann Lambert, grandchildren Jaime (Danny), Alexander (Torry), Jennifer (Blake), Natalie (Dan), Sarah and Jordan, as well as great-grandchildren Adalyn, Vera, Silas and Mason. Also survived by his sister Lucille Derouin and brothers Rene and Jerome and brother-in-law Curly Brunet as well as many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by a great-grandson Lucas, brothers Romeo (Gloria), Arsene (Norene), Phillip (Rose) Briere, sisters, Jeannette (Albert) Monpetit, Irene (Joe) Waite, Florence Brunet and Theresa (Leo) Roseberry, brother-in-law Phillipe Derouin, sisters-in-law Betty and Marie Briere.
Gerard owned and operated Jerry’s Auto Body in St. Agatha for many years. He will be remembered as a loving husband and father as well as a great entertainer who enjoyed playing guitar and organ coming from a musical family.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Jerry with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 from 6-9 p.m. Parish Prayers will be held at 8:45p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church, 173 Lourdes St. Waterloo on Wednesday, October 17 at 12:00 noon. Reception will follow in the Parish Hall. Cremation will have taken place.
The family wishes to thank the Doctors and Nurses in CCU at St. Mary’s Hospital and the many wonderful staff and residents of Waterloo Heights for their ongoing support.
