Obituary of Terry Dunn

DUNN, Terry

On October 12, 2018, at age 63, after a short battle with cancer, Terry passed away peacefully surrounded by the people he loved the most.

He is survived by myself, his wife Angie, four daughters Sherry, Lorrie, Patricia and Kate.  Also survived by 14 grandchildren, Richard, Josh, Andrew, Owen, Brayden, Alex, Sara, Jaxon, Lily, William, Tyler, Lyric, Feyd and Phoenix, and brother Dan and sister Susan.  Christmases with the family were very expensive but always full of joy and excitement.

On this day I lost my best friend, the wonderful man who won my heart by making me homemade whole wheat raisin bread and taking me to the laundromat and grocery shopping rather than on dates.  I’m having a hard time imaging my life without him.  He will be dearly missed by family and all who knew and worked with him.

Terry’s biggest loves in life were Bruce Springsteen, his family, his truck and his sailboat, not necessarily in that order.  Most summer weekends were spent in Bayfield at the marina on the sailboat, chatting with fellow boaters and passing out tequila and scotch in dollar store shot glasses.  He was both loved and hated by fellow boaters for his generosity in this regard.  And on rare occasions, we actually took the boat out for a sail.

Terry started his working career at Chipman in January 1980 and retired from the company on July 31, 2011, then known as Syngenta.  He had a wonderful career with the company and cultivated many friendships with people he worked with during this time.  He had many happy memories of his years there.  Subsequently he began working for Novasol North America, a chemical company with a small presence in North America and head office in Belgium.  He loved working but especially had to keep working to pay for his family, his truck, his sailboat and all the Springsteen music he had to buy.

My dear husband, I will love you and miss you forever.  No one else will ever replace you in my heart.  A better kinder man there never was.  Now that you are in heaven, please look after Dickens for me.
