Rest In Peace, Helen. Our heartfelt condolences to the family. Although I haven’t seen Helen in many years, we spoke for a bit after my Mom’s passing and an occasional phone call. Our yearly Christmas cards kept us connected. In my growing years, my mom regaled me and my siblings with many stories of her younger years growing up and spending her summers with Uncle Des, Aunt Ethel, Helen, Mary and Theresa, and what a wonderful time she had.
Rest In Peace

Hello John and Kelly,
My name is Pat Sanagan and I got to know your mother through geneology research.
Helen and I (and you John) are distant cousins from the Kelly family.
My grandfather James A Kelly was a great mentor to Helen's Dad Robert Desmond before he left the US for Alberta.
Helen and I shared many conversations about the family history and I loved her sense of humour and resiliency.
Just today, I thought I should get in touch because we hadn't spoken in a year or so.
Imagine my surprise at finding the obituary. I was literally driving from Toronto north to Southampton last Thursday and could have attended the funeral.
I am so sorry for your loss. She loved you guys and adored her grandchildren. She will be missed by many I'm sure.
Sincerely Pat

Dear John, Kelly, and Family,
We were so sorry to hear of your Mom's passing, John.
She was one of the warmest and kindest people we will ever know. I remember our evenings watching the Maple Leafs games in London, evenings filled with laughter, and your Mom and Dad, ever the optimists that the Leafs could turn a dreadful season around and make a big comeback, and of course, when Don Cherry was on all talking stopped. What fun we had. We will miss your Mom, as we do your Dad.
Our prayers to you and your Family,
Love, Ron and Pearl Moir

I will miss Aunt Helen. She had a genuine interest in the lives of family near and far, showering us all with regular phone calls and prayers. I remember her single years, before my Mom’s match making with Uncle Art, when she worked for International Harvester in Edmonton after leaving the world of telegraph work. I recall ice skating with Helen when she lived with us for a while - she seemed exotic on her speed skates. A very athletic, independent and thoughtful woman. As she aged, her memory remained strong and I continued to enjoy stories of her active teen years in Edson and telegraph work in remote locations. Rest in peace Aunt Helen xox

John I remember your mother and dad from St. John the Divine parish in London. Helen was always good for a story after mass on Sundays and then she would go looking for Art who had usher duties. They were lovely people and your name often came up in conversation.
God bless you in this time of sorrow.

Mrs. Murphy exuded warmth, love, and a joy for life, rarely seen. I will remember her smiles, hugs, laughter, and her sincere interest in my life, as John's friend.
I always left from a visit to Mr. and Mrs. Murphy's (Art & Helen) home with more energy than when I arrived, a true testament to the warmth and joyful spirit they both possessed, which was exponential when both were in the same room together.
I'm not sure if the Toronto Maple Leafs and Don Cherry had any more loyal and exuberant followers than Helen and Art. May they soon witness the Leafs carry Lord Stanley's Cup from high above:)
Jackie Robinson's quote suits Mrs. Murphy and the wonderfully positive impact she had on this world, and all the lives she touched.
“A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives.”
– Jackie Robinson
May we all try to touch a few lives the way Mrs. Murphy (Helen) did.

Sorry for your loss John, Kelly, Ella, Ava, Finn, Eden and Pippa.
Auntie Helen was one of the nicest people I ever talked to. She was deeply religious and knew the Blue Jays better than the commentators did. Will miss our phone calls. Sending prayers and love to you all.
