Obituary of Agnes Matilda Haffner
Peacefully, on Monday, October 22, 2018, at St. Jacobs Place Retirement Home, at age 85 years. Agnes suffered for five years with chronic pain and over the last few months she had terminal liver, lung and bone cancer.
Dear mother of Donna Kunkel and her husband John of Kitchener and George Haffner and his wife Crystal of Elmira. Sadly missed by her grandchildren, Jessie and Chris Pachereva, Trevor Kunkel and friend Jen Doerner, Ryan and Brooklyn Haffner and great-grandchildren, Brea and Ivie Pachereva. Survived by her siblings, Bill Haid, Stanley Haid, Kathleen Herteis, Jerome Haid and Rita Murdock.
Predeceased by her parents, Joseph Haid and Theresa (nee Logel), brothers Joseph (at birth), Charles, Anthony, John, Al, Lawrence and sisters, Theresa Haid, Emmeline Rosenberger, Mary Beith, Rose Schlueter and Margaret Druar.
A special thank you to Dr. G. Jones, the palliative staff and the nurses at St. Jacobs Place Retirement Home for their care and understanding. A thank you also to Dr. Taylor and Dying with Dignity.
We thank God in his mercy for the peaceful end to her life and a new beginning in the next.
Relatives and friends may call at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, October 25, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, October 26, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. with a light lunch served immediately following the service in the funeral home’s Fireside Room. Interment at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo for family only will be later.
