Obituary of Eleanor Mary Wiens
Eleanor passed away peacefully at Hospice Wellington in Guelph on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at the age of 86.
Predeceased by her beloved husband John A. Wiens on February 16, 2006. Adored mother of Nancy L. Pauls and husband Peter, John D. Wiens and wife Heidi, Wendy L. Campbell and husband Paul, and Mark A. Wiens and wife Yvonne. Cherished grandmother of Leah (Bradyn), Jessica (Aaron), Rebecca (Jonas), Bethany, Ashley, Destiny (Andrés), Colton, Molly, Robert, Rachel, Nicholas and great-grandmother of Caleb, Natalie, Max, Olivia, Luke, John, Evelyn and Liam. Treasured, dear and best friend of Jake Willms. Lovingly remembered by her brothers, Henry Rempel, Victor Rempel and wife Helen, John Rempel and wife Chris Barker.
Predeceased by her brother Peter Rempel and sister Esther Willms.
Mom had a gift for lightening the load of others. She was a surrogate mother and grandmother to many. Her strong yet simple faith supported her throughout her long life. Eleanor was a long-time member of W-K United Mennonite Church where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School and Bible School. Eleanor had a deep love for all animals, and adored her extended pet family which included many dogs and cats over the years.
Eleanor’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at W-K United Mennonite Church, 15 George St., Waterloo on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at 11 a.m. with Pastors Ben Cassels and Ed Janzen officiating. A reception will immediately follow the service in the church hall.
