It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Ross Brooks, on Friday, November 16, 2018 a week after his 80th birthday. Cherished husband of Judy Brooks, for 56 years. Dear father of Greg (Linda), Susan (Matt), Leslie (Mike) and Mike (Jennifer). Will be sadly missed by all his grandchildren, Daniel and Michael, Christopher, Jonathan and Billy, Matthew and Alex, Michelle and Madeline who were the center of his world. Also survived by his two brothers Howard (Kathy) and John (Judy).

Ross was born and grew up in Hamilton where he joined the Steel Company of Canada at a very young age and quickly progressed in his role to become a Chartered Accountant in 1963.

In 1968 Ross moved the family to Waterloo where he joined the University of Waterloo and acted both as a Controller and taught Accounting. This was a true passion and joy to him.

Ross and Judy raised their family in Waterloo with annual summer vacations in Sauble Beach -a place where he was the most relaxed and at peace walking the beach every chance he could. Ross always made family his highest priority and always wanted to be with his wife, children and grandchildren. Ross loved walking his dogs and spending time in his backyard.

A constant fighter, he managed his health challenges with dignity, never wanting to burden anyone. Ross was particularly grateful for the support and care he received at St. Mary’s Hospital, and for the friends and support he found at the Hardy Hearts program, the Heart and Stroke Recovery programs and City of Waterloo’s day program.

Friends and relatives are invited to share their memories of Ross with his family during visitation on Thursday, November 22, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home 171 King St. S., Waterloo.

The memorial service to celebrate his life will take place at First Baptist Church 306 Erb St. W., Waterloo on Friday, November 23, 2018 at 11 a.m.
