Nancy, Steffen, Jo and families: We were very sorry to learn of Henry's death. We did not know him well and thus found the obituary very informative. It portrays a very interested and interesting man who led a full and valuable life. You describe him as a "gentle and kind" man and from our meetings with him we would describe him the same way. Jen was a fovourite of his and he her's. It is easy to see why. We are thinking of all of you.

During my time at the NFLD representative and later the Chair of Habitat Humanity Canada, I remember Henry and his passion for Restore development in Canada. I thank Maureen Crawford for sending me this notice .
To his family: Your husband, father, grandfather, sister and brother has left a true legacy behind in many facets of his life especially Habitat for Humanity. He mentored many in their efforts to get Restores established in every province in Canada. His leadership and dedication to what restores could do to support local building projects as the restore Coordinator was truly amazing. During our many Annual meetings, I recall his presentations. He was truly a great advocate; passionate and committed to providing the means to build houses for those families in need. May your memories help in the days ahead. My prayers and thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

Indeed, Henry was a good man. His connections to Silver Lake were manifold and solidly appreciated! I first got to know him as a camp counselor in the 1960's -- we went canoeing on the Sauble River with the campers. One of the last projects Henry and I shared in, was completing some carpentry work on the sauna cabin a couple of years ago. He had gifts in so many areas!

I have fond memories of the time Sue and I shared with Henry & Nancy at Waterloo North, when Henry was church chair. I also remember with a smile the time Henry commented that a particular stone in the front wall reminded him of his dog, "Fudge." Whenever I'm at Waterloo North I look for that stone.

Henry so generously loaned his canoe equipment- big green dry sac, sit upon, etc. which went on so many of my canoe trips. Prior to the trip Henry would give advice on best locations for canoeing, encouraging white water routes that I likely never would have otherwise attempted. Then afterward he would sit and listen to the adventures, with patience & delight. I never did take the river he recommended I fly into! Such an adventurous person. Sincere condolences, Nancy on the loss of your life companion.

Many good memories of Henry Pauls. We met at TUMC and shared good times. The most memorable is a canoe trip for several fathers with sons or sons-in-law.
Condolences to family especially for Nancy
