Obituary of James Joseph Cairney
With sadness and heavy hearts, we announce that James Joseph “Jimmy C” Cairney passed away unexpectedly on January 22nd, 2025.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his fiancé Joan Dey and their dog Scrappy, sons Simon (Kathryn) and Cameron, his parents James and Jessie, sister Paula (Alain), brothers Gary (Diane) and Derek (Diane), step-children Meghan (Kenny), Rebecca (Shawn), Scott (Katherine), and Alysia (Brandon), and step-grandchildren Ayden, Landon, Logan, Hunter, Zelia, Axton, Ayla Joan, Alba, Reid, and Rhys. He is also survived by his nephews Joel, Josh, Alex, Daniel, and Callum (Anne-Marie), and his nieces Carly (Kevin) and Nicole (Kent).
Jimmy C was the king of one-liners and his presence could light up a room. He would say or do anything if it would make you laugh. He was the ultimate sports fan and coached hockey for many years. He was a dog lover, bird lover, and a music lover. He enjoyed being out in nature, and especially loved riding his Harley. For his 60th birthday, Jimmy C returned home to Scotland with Joan in September of 2024 for a memorable and meaningful trip.
