
Obituary of Kaireen Celestine McIntyre
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kaireen “Kay” McIntyre (nee Pilon) of Waterloo, ON at the age of 93. Kay was born on July 1, 1931, in Douglas, ON to the late John & Celestine (Sharpe) Pilon.
Loving mother of Ann Kieswetter (Dan Bauer), Mary Lynn Kieswetter (predeceased in 2023), Kevin McIntyre, and Lori Thalen (Perry Rammeloo).
Cherished Grandma to Brianna Kieswetter (Danny Hall), Neil Kieswetter, Eric Chilton, Sarah Chilton (Quintin Martens), and Justyn and Brittany McIntyre.
Dearest GG to Miller, Scottlyn and Adalyn Hall and Hudson Bell.
Dearly loved sister of Anne Coyles, Dorothy Riddell and Rose Crozier (Kenneth).
She is survived by many nieces and nephews and extended family.
Predeceased by her sisters Lulu and Helen Pilon, her brothers and their spouses Cecil Pilon (Anna), Carl Pilon (Rita), Arnet Pilon (Alice), and Earl Pilon (Faye), as well as her brothers-in-law Denzel Coyles and James Riddell.
Kay was a homemaker for most of her life starting out on a farm in Admaston, ON. In 1971 the family moved to Waterloo, ON. After settling into city life, she eventually went to work as a bank teller at CIBC University of Waterloo Campus until her retirement at age 60.
Kay loved being outdoors, going for long walks and doing her gardening. She was a great cook and an excellent baker, especially famous for her apple pies at holiday get-togethers. Most of all, Kay treasured time spent with her family.
The family would like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to Columbia Forest Long-Term Care Home in Waterloo, ON for their exceptional care given to Mom over the past two years.
As per Kay's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family interment will follow at a later date.
