Passed away peacefully with his family and long-time friend, Fred, by his side at St. Mary’s General Hospital in Kitchener, ON, on February 1, 2025.
Survived by his wife of 50 years, Joan (nee Morgan); his children Andrew (Cassandra) and Pamela; his two granddaughters Ava and Cara; his mother Joyce; and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his father, Carman, in 1980; and his three brothers Ross, Brian, and Mark.
Grant spent a short period of time in the Army Reserve, and went on to drive trucks for 50 years, owning and operating Driftwood Trucking in St. Agatha. To his truck driving friends, he was affectionately known as “Gravy Train”. He was a friend of Bill W. from 1986 on. Grant was also an avid fan of German Shepherd dogs (he had 3), and sci-fi, especially Star Trek. He was a friend to everyone, striking up a conversation with anyone who crossed his path.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the Dickson House staff at Columbia Forest LTC.
