Obituary of Leo Ilijan Cocev
Passed away at home on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at the age of 62.
Leo is survived by his son Russell Cocev. He was predeceased by his parents and his brothers Ray and Stephen.
Leo was known to take care of others before himself, and his family meant the world to him. He had the biggest heart and most genuine soul at his core. Leo possessed a strong moral compass, and always believed in doing the right thing. His son Russell was his whole world. Leo would drop everything if his son needed him.
Leo was an avid dog lover and owner, and he cherished their companionship throughout his life. He loved music and playing the guitar. Rush and Kim Mitchell were often playing on the stereo. Leo was also a passionate fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and made sure to pass his fandom down to Russell from a young age. They watched countless games together and always spoke on the phone about how the team was looking each year.
Leo had many struggles in isolation, but the bond with his son was as strong as could be. Through it all, they knew they’d always be there for each other.
