Obituary of Georgina Evelyn Scheffel

Georgina "Gina" Evelyn Scheffel (nee Davison) passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, February 8, 2025, in her 95^th year (June 30, 1930).

Survived by husband Ralph, sons Michael (Jackie), Peter (Marty), David (Sheila) and John; grandchildren Keane (Amie), Ben (Lauren), Alex, Alana (Jon), Cai (Mat), Max (Jaymie), Nic and Emily; great-grandchildren Lily and Paige; and brother Rick (Patricia). 

Born and raised in Preston, attending Preston High School, where an invitation to a Sadie Hawkin’s dance in November 1945 led to a lifetime partnership with future husband Ralph. She taught school in Kitchener until the sons started arriving. A very generous and compassionate woman (although she could be stubborn and feisty at times), she maintained a warm and welcoming home for family and friends. A bridge enthusiast, Gina taught the game for many years. And don’t forget the knitted sweaters!

Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. The funeral service will take place in the chapel of the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. followed by a reception in the Fireside Reception Room.  Cremation will have taken place and a private family interment will be held at Memory Gardens.
