Obituary of John Gordon Paynter

John passed away peacefully following a stroke in 2020.

Beloved husband of June (nee Wright) for 57 years. Proud and loving father of Sara and son-in-law David. John was a devoted grandpa to Connor and Logan and was up for any game they wanted to play.

Predeceased by parents Gordon and Evelyn, and brother Bill.

John grew up in London, graduated from Western University, and spent his career at Mutual Life (now Sun Life Financial) in Waterloo. He became a cherished member of the Wright family and enjoyed many good times at the cottage at Bruce Beach.

John was an active member of the Masons with Waterloo Lodge #539 and a secretary of the Waterloo Shrine Club for many years.

A special thank you to the caring staff at The Village of University Gates. Their compassionate care was appreciated.

Cremation has taken place, and a private family service will be held.
