Obituary of Eric Adam Maier

Our hearts are broken to share that our angel, Eric Maier, passed away unexpectedly in the early morning of Friday, February 28, 2025, at the age of 28. 

Loving and devoted father of Alaina Maier-Janzen (mother Nellie). 

Brother and ‘keeper’ of Thomas. 

Beloved son of Sylvia (nee Bechtloff) and Bruce. 

Nephew to Brian Maier and Alison Hitchens, Angie and Jeff Merry, Walter Bechtloff and Frank Bechtloff. 

Eric cherished his daughter Alaina with all his heart and everything he had. 

Eric was passionate about woodworking, cooking and gardening and loved working with his hands.  Always thought of others first and was quick to lend a helping hand. 

Eric was an avid sports fan having played baseball, football and basketball growing up and enjoyed watching boxing and MMA with his friends. He also enjoyed gaming on his PS under the tag TRILLZ_LEGACY. 

We all love you Eric and will miss you deeply. 

Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday, March 7, 2025, from 7 – 9 p.m. and Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 11:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.  The funeral service will take place in the chapel of the funeral home on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 2 p.m.  A reception will follow in the funeral home’s Fireside Reception Room.  A private family interment will be held at Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener, at a later date.
