I am so very sorry to hear about the passing of Craig. He was a friend and colleague of mine over 40 years ago. We were in graduate school together at Laurier in Waterloo. Craig and his wife Joanne taught in Japan with me at the beginning of my teaching career. I have many fond memories of this fine gentleman. The family has my deepest condolences. I apologize for losing touch.
Sincerely,
Randall Keast,
J

The week I spent at the Stuart’s cottage the summer before going into high school was one of the best weeks of my life. His youngest daughter Jackie was my best friend in middle school. He was such a caring person to his family & students. I’m so sorry to hear about his passing.

Long after I needed any History credits, I continued to take Mr. Stuart's courses simply to be inspired. He had this authentic ability to make History accessible to everyone in his classroom in a way where he made you think less about curriculum checkmarks and more about recurring patterns that shape the world. He was the teacher who not only taught me how to write and research with academic purpose, but also made me fall in love with the process. I honestly don't think I would have made it through my first year of university without having the absolute fortune of having Mr. Stuart as my teacher.
In my own practice as a teacher, I often reflect on Mr. Stuart's ability to make his classroom a place where we felt valued and at ease; where we were encouraged to take risks and think critically about the world around us. If I can come close to inspiring my own students in the way that he did, I will know that I've done something special.
Mr. Stuart was a magical teacher. I am so sorry to hear about his passing and I will very much miss him.

Stuey, as hard as I tried to follow in your footsteps, no one can ever fill the boots you wore.
You are a good mate.
I will always remember your wicked humour, cheers together over great hilarious outrageous tall rugby tales, playing cribbage (sometimes winning at least never skunked - well maybe once).
It's never goodbye, it's always 'see ya later mate'...
cheers mate, Smitty

Jo- Anne, Kaitlyn and Jackie - Words cannot express how sorry I am to learn of Craig’s sudden passing. He was such a great neighbour to many of us on Candlewood Cres., always there to lend a helping hand - cutting hedges/ moving hot tubs, blowing snow. He will be so sadly missed by many - My heart breaks for all of you - gone far too soon. My deepest sympathies. Megan Wood

So very shocked and sad to hear this news of Craig's death. Craig is remembered as a respected colleague and friend from our years on the EDSS staff. Sending our sincere condolences to the family. Ray & April Brien
in my years as Physical Education Department Head at EDSS I worked closely with Craig in many ways.
Proud toto give him my simple biggest compliments "He was a good guy "a class act" and a "respected friend".
In rugby tradition it is and honor to stand and "Clap him off". Ray

Mr. Stuart was an inspirational teacher and impacted his students in the classroom and on the field. I fondly remember his history class in high school and he inspired me to become a history teacher myself. My deepest condolences to the family.

Craig was a colleague and friend with whom I shared an appreciation for the value of sport in positively impacting people's lives and the importance of public education in creating a just, thoughtful and caring community.
Craig was instrumental in sustaining and promoting the sport of Rugby in the region. Many players, coaches, schools and families were beneficiaries of the time and effort he dedicated in the service of others. Like Craig, I was a coach at UW and in the Waterloo Region education system. I particularly appreciated his contributions, enthusiasm and commitment to making the community a better place and providing youth with an outlet to grow as athletes, students and people.
Craig was a community builder and gave back to others. He will be missed, but no more so than by those closest to him. My condolences go out to Craig's wife, family and friends.

Eloquently put, Mark.
Craig had a heart of absolute gold and because of him, rugby players at UW and many students in Waterloo Region, are greater people today.
Thank you for efforts, Craig. You made me a better man and will truly be missed. My condolences to his family.
