Lawrence and Erika were such wonderful neighbours; we miss them every time we look out our back yard. Lawrence adored Erika and was adrift after her loss, but found great consolation in his family and his beloved cats. We'll remember best his kindness and generosity, his good humour and his check-in phone calls. He and Erika will always be in our hearts.

I am very sorry to hear the passing of Laurie. I met Laurie when I was working at Dryden Paper Mill from 1992 to 1995. He was such a warm person and willing to help to anyone, whithout being asked. When I was moving, Laurie asked me if he could help He drove the truck and help me carried the heavy stuff on a snowing day. I will forever remember all these wonderful days with you, your wife Erika, Nicole and Stefan. My familily really appreaciate your strength and bright heart, although I am the only person who met you in person.

We knew Lawrence as "Sensei Mitani" as he coached and mentored our two boys in Judo from a a very young age and well into their teens. What a wonderful man that had such a positive influence on so many youth and adults in our town of Dryden. Very few people are so lucky to be so highly respected and accomplished as Lawrence. So sorry to hear of his passing. Bob and Barb Moore-Bunney
