Great grandmother to Zoe, Gwendolyn (Kieswetter) Kate, James and Claire (Voisin), and Athena (Malleck).Cavell was the youngest child of Samuel (1952) and Lillian Priess (1972) and was a lifelong resident of Waterloo Region. Predeceased by her sisters Beatrice Schenkel (1996), Charlotte Seftel (1953) and Ruth Heimpel (1990). Dearest sister-in-law to Catherine (Thiel) (2024), Nancy (McDougall), Paul Thomas, Jane (Goll) (2020) and Charles & Nancy Thomas. Dearest aunt to Jeanne Voisin.

Cavell and Robert married at St. Louis RC Church on May 8, 1954 and enjoyed 62 years together before Dad’s passing in 2016.

Cavell was unique as her name – she was witty, kind, generous and dedicated to her family on Peppler Street.  Cavell was a caregiver in every aspect of her life and that portion of her good life, was her nameless and unremembered acts of kindness and love.  Cavell’s home was her heartbeat and always wanted to “go home” for the last few years of her life. Mom’s journey is now just beginning – she is now free of restless days; she is now home and reunited with her beloved Bob and finds constant comfort in the arms of her beloved mother and all those who have predeceased her.  Her beautiful smile will always be remembered as her signature to light up the heavens.

Grateful thanks extended to Cecilia Beechey of St. Louis RC Church whose constant companionship and friendship was a sense of calming love to our mom.  Carol Marchand and Staff at AgeCare West Williams whose guidance had helped the family navigate difficult times.
