Obituary of May Aquilina

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of May Aquilina (nee Weatherall) in her 91st year.  May passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Hospice Waterloo Region -The Cook Family Residence.  

May is survived by her loving husband, of 69 years, Vince, and her children Nancy (Dave), Robert and Marian (Randy).

May was the very proud grandmother of Shannyn (Kevin), Patrick (Chynna Rae), Audrey, Matthew and Nicholas and great-grandmother of Ryan, Lilah and Elin.

She will be sorely missed by her sister, Vera.

May had a remarkable gift with words — she could command any room with her written poems. Her words had a way of bringing people together, making them laugh, reflect, and feel deeply.

May had a passion for teaching and taught for many years.

She was a special woman with a kind heart, and she leaves behind a legacy of love, learning, creativity, and connection. 

Thank you to Dr. Sarah Rinaldi and also thank you to the incredible staff and volunteers at the Hospice Waterloo Region - The Cook Family Residence for the care, compassion, and dignity they gave May in her final days.

A special thank you to the Foxboro Green Community.  May had a deep love for her community, and their outpouring of love and support is so greatly appreciated.

A Celebration of May's Life will take place at Foxboro Green Recreation Centre, 95 Foxboro Drive, Baden, Ontario on Monday, May 12, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
