I grew up around the corner from Scott and often chatted with him when I walked by. He was a lovely person, and it always brightened my day to see his relationship with Thor. I often think about him because rescuing my pets rabbits as an adult saved my mental health as I'm sure Thor did for Scott. I remember him fondly, my condolences to his family.

Scott was a cherished family friend to Yong—one of his closest and most loyal companions. When Yong lost his wife, Scott became his rock: a steady, compassionate presence who offered not only comfort, but also the gift of laughter and storytelling to help carry his friend through the toughest days.
We will always hold deep gratitude in our hearts for the unwavering friendship and kindness Scott showed to Yong over so many years, even while quietly carrying his own struggles. His presence in our lives was truly a gift.
Sending our heartfelt love to Erin, Jen, Dave and family during this unimaginable time of loss.
—The Kipp Family

Scott was our neighbour since 1967. He was the older brother of my best friend Jen. He could have been a tease, a bully, but Scott chose kindness. I always felt comfortable around Scott and it was fun to go over to the Hudspeths because they always had sports on TV and poppycock snacks. Rest in peace Scott , and to Jen whose dedication to her brother was unparalleled sending mountains of love and support.

A lifetime of friendship and very fond memories. I met Buddy Huds in 1967 when my family moved to Waterloo from Windsor. I can remember building underground forts behind his house with Hummer and Heats, almost burning down the bush when we tried cooking hot dogs in the darn thing. We played countless rounds of golf out at Conestoga Country Club, going in the murky ponds and river to find and sell golfballs for some extra pocket money which we used for ‘Caddie specials’ or to buy a bag of penny candy at the village store and on occasion take a 3 hour walk home!! Buddy was pretty good at sports, we played slow pitch with the whole gang for Team Taps all the while Scott dissected every aspect of the game. With Griff and Gomez we won a provincial golf scramble championship which included an all expense paid trip to Arizona; once again Buddy was the one with the plan. Always competitive to a fault I can remember when Kim and I visited him at home we were hitting golf balls from the patio, under the clothes line, over the bush and into the river. Well Kim did it 5 times in a row…Buddy had to try to get 6.
Condolences to all that knew him. A friend forever and always in my thoughts.

I met Scotty with Jen when I went to visit Jen from San Diego in 2014. That’s where Jen’s last dog made a flying leap into the river that is one of my favorite photos. We had a good time talking and playing ball with the dog the day I visited. Jen loved Scotty so much, and I could see why. He had a great sense of humor and was very kind to me. May God Bless you, Scotty! Sandy Goldsmith

I had the pleasure of teaching Scott at St. David in 1970. He was energetic, humerous, polite and sociable. May his memory be a blessing. Life has changed not ended.
