Obituary of Dianne Frances Fretz

Dianne Frances Fretz (née Bast), a vibrant and determined woman, passed away on April 19, 2025, at the age of 79. She leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication, survived by her daughter, Kerry Fretz, and her cherished grandchildren, Ethan and Avery Rank.

Born and raised in the Kitchener-Waterloo area, Dianne made her mark as a legal secretary, executive assistant, and part-time real estate agent. Her passion for helping first-time homebuyers find their perfect home was matched only by her enthusiasm for offering decorating advice. Dianne's professional life was characterized by her creativity, strong work ethic, and no-nonsense approach, all while maintaining her ability to find humor in life's many moments.

As a mother and grandmother, Dianne was the epitome of support and protection. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy, and she treasured every moment she could participate in their lives when her health allowed. Her love for them knew no bounds.

While the challenges of aging eventually took their toll on Dianne's mind and body, those who knew and loved her will always remember her as the vibrant, engaged woman who was deterred by nothing. Her spirit will remain undiminished, even as her physical and mental presence faded.   

Dianne has now found her well-deserved peace. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family gathering to celebrate her life will be held at a later date. We invite those who knew Dianne to remember her not for her final days, but for the laughter she shared, the homes she helped create, and the love she poured into her family and friends.   May her memory be a happy one for all who knew her.
