I was very saddened to hear of Kari’s passing this past week. Although we haven’t been in contact these past few years I could never forget her vibrant personality and energy for life. One of those few people with a true compassion for those around her and the people of her community. It was an honour to be her leader at times and friend at others.
You will be missed Kari

I want to express our profound sorrow at the passing of a remarkable young leader in the ROW community. At just 40 years old, she brought wisdom, drive, and compassion well beyond her years. Her dedication to her work and the people around her left a lasting mark on our community and everyone who had the privilege to know her. Staff at the GRCA extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and colleagues during this incredibly difficult time.

Kari was a wonderful, brilliant, kind, fun and hilarious person. She always made time for our MA class get-togethers, and was the life of them. We all adored her, and we will always be proud of her accomplishments. She was the only one of us political-sci majors to get elected to office. She was a Super Woman, and set the standard in many ways for our cohort. She will be deeply missed.
