
Obituary of Donald Edward John Schott
Passed away peacefully at the Waterloo Regional Health Network – Chicopee (formerly Freeport Hospital) on April 30, 2025, in his 90th year.
He was born in 1935. He is survived by his wife Carol; brother Willard (Mille) and sister-in-law Merlyn Schott; his children Lorrie (Al), Rosanne (Ron), Paul, John (Lorraine); stepchildren Lance (Jen), Lynda (Aneil) and John (Karen). He is survived by 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his parents Alice & Edward Schott, sisters Hilda, Eva, Shirley, Diane, and Sandra, and brothers Ervin, Howard, Clifford, Harley, Herbert, and Bruce.
Donald was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Erbsville for many years, and held many positions on the council, his first when he was 18 years old. He donated many hours of service to the church and to St. Paul’s Cemetery. It was during one of his terms as Chair that the solar panels and heat pump were installed. He worked most of his life in the poultry industry. He worked for L.H. Gray Eggs Ltd. in Moorefield, and before that, Monkton Poultry in Monkton, ON.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service to take place at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 796 Erbsville Rd., Waterloo, on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. Urn interment to follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery.
