Obituary of Mabel Merkley

Mabel Merkley passed peacefully, surrounded by family, at Listowel Hospital on Tuesday evening, April 29, 2025. 

Mabel is survived by her loving husband Bruce, her three sons, David (Valeria), Dale (Mary Louise), Doug (Rhonda), and her sister in law Doris Tutt (late, Harold). 

Mabel will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Sarah, Josh (Laura), Jamieson (Trentt), Mackenzie (Tyson), Madison, Lucas (Emma), Denver, Brooke, Chloe, Kylie, Ella, Matthew, her great grandchildren, Jones, Banks and Florence, and also by her many nieces, nephews, from the Merkley, Purvis, Simpson, Tessmer, Tutt families, and Mary Louise's two sons, Ryan and Joel Skornyak. Mabel's greatest pride and joy was her family. She was a devoted, loving, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. 

Mabel had a life long relationship with Our Lord and practiced that faith throughout her lifetime.

Mabel will be fondly remembered by all of her family and friends for her fun loving and feisty nature. 

Rest peacefully, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.

Our thanks go out to the caring and helpful staff of the Listowel Memorial Hospital as well as the Riverview Park Retirement Residence, staff and community.
