Obituary of Nicole Jean Burgess
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Nicole Jean Burgess, who left this world far too soon at the age of 39 on May 1, 2025. Surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with heart disease. Her passing leaves a deep ache in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Nicole was a devoted mother, loving daughter, loyal friend, and a light in the lives of all who knew her. Born in Kitchener, she grew up surrounded by family, music, and the outdoors she loved so much. Her warmth, quick wit, and generous spirit were hallmarks of a life lived with intention and kindness.
Above all, Nicole cherished her role as a mother to her daughter, Jacqueline. Their bond was one of laughter, bedtime stories, and an unshakable love that will endure in Jacqueline’s heart forever. Nicole found joy in every moment spent with Jacqueline and cherished every second.
Nicole is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline Laroque (age 4); her parents, Michelle (nee Stilwell) and Carey Burgess; sister, Kendall and Trevor Zelazny, niece, Vera Zelazny. Fondly remembered by Linda and Mike Laroque, many aunts, uncles and cousins and a circle of friends who were like family. She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Joan Stilwell and Sandy Burgess whom she adored.
Though her time with us was far too brief, Nicole's love, laughter, and spirit will live on in every life she touched—most of all in the beautiful legacy of Jacqueline.
A celebration of Nicole’s life will be held in the Reception Room at 3227 King St. E, Kitchener, on Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. with remarks throughout.
In lieu of flowers, donations for Jacqueline’s education may be made payable to Kendall Burgess and entrusted to the Erb & Good Family Home.
