Obituary of Geraldine "Geri" Schmidt

April 9, 1941 – May 18, 2025
 

Passed away peacefully after a brief illness at WRHN @ Chicopee on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at the age of 84 years.

Geri is survived by her brother Doug and his wife Ruth, sister Charlotte and her husband Rev. Bruce Thompson. Loving Aunt to Derek Schmidt Ember and partner Michelle Clarke Ember, and Sarah Thompson and fiancé Adam Breen. Great-Aunt to Amelia Breen, Talus and Ayla Ember.

Predeceased by her parents Harry and Florence (Lichty) Schmidt.

Geri spent her entire life in Kitchener/Waterloo where she was a business administrator in both the public and private sectors. She enjoyed travelling the world. Geri appreciated music by participating in her church choirs and was an original member of The Gloryland Chorus. She was an avid reader, knitter and a true blue and white Toronto Maple Leaf fan.

Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Monday, May 26, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. The funeral service will take place in the chapel of the funeral home at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception in the Fireside Reception Room. Interment to follow at Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener.
