Obituary of Robert Joseph Helm

Helm, Robert Joseph passed away peacefully on May 14, 2025, at the age of ninety-six. Robert was predeceased by his beloved wife, Tillie Helm, in 2019.

Son of the late Leo Helm and Agnus (Reitzel) and predeceased by siblings, Cyril, Rita, Marcella, Maria, Eva, Mello and Valera, Robert is survived by stepsons Mark Koppeser (Audrey) and Michael (Nadine), grandchildren Asya, Isaac, Brooke and Brent, nephews and nieces, Michael Fitzpatrick, James Helm, Joanne Helm, Beth Fitzpatrick and Ann Stirling. 

A lifelong resident of Waterloo and Kitchener, hobbyist, tinkerer and fledgling musician, Robert had the good fortune of a career he truly enjoyed, lasting childhood friendships, travel and good health through to his 94th year. 

Special thanks to the staff of Parkwood Mennonite Home for their excellent and compassionate care over Robert’s remaining days. A family service and internment has taken place at Mount Hope Cemetery.
