
Obituary of Edward Paul Dutka
Passed away peacefully at the Waterloo Regional Health Network @ Queen’s Blvd. (formerly St. Mary’s General Hospital) on May 31, 2025, at the age of 94 years.
Cherished husband of Leola, who predeceased him in 2008. Loving father of Peggy Andersen and her husband John of Okotoks, Alberta, and Linda Dutka of Waterloo. Grandchildren: Nicole (John) Warin and Matthew (Nicole) Andersen, and great-grandchildren Arden and Jordan Warin and Rebecca and Natalie Andersen.
Sadly missed by his brother Joseph (Lorraine) Dutko. Predeceased by his parents Stephan and Annie (Studnick) Dutko and his sister Helen Deckert.
Ed was a member of St. Agnes RC Church and was a long-time employee of Uniroyal. He was raised on a farm near Neepawa, Manitoba, and developed his outstanding work ethic and diligence at an early age. He was a Jack-of-all-trades and was happiest when doing woodwork, mechanics and car repairs. He loved to go hunting and camping in his little Boler trailer. He and Leola cottaged in New Brunswick every autumn for 50 years. He will be greatly missed by his A&W buddies Nelda, Frank and Reg.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Ed with his family at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S, Waterloo, on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Parish Prayers will take place at 6:15 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Ed's life and faith will be held at St. Agnes RC Church, 75 Bluevale St. N, Waterloo, on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., with Fr. Joonbin Lim officiating. Interment will follow at Parkview Cemetery, 335 University Ave., Waterloo. Following the committal service, friends are invited to join the family in the Parish Centre downstairs at St. Agnes Church for refreshments and a time to visit.
