Obituary of Lori Jean Wilson

Lori’s short but vicious battle with cancer ended on Monday, June 2, 2025, at Hospice Wellington in Guelph. She was 61 years old. Lori leaves behind her husband Jim Wilson, daughter Vanessa Wilson, son Alex Wilson, granddaughter Julia Taylor and mother Fay Albrecht. She was predeceased by her father John Albrecht (2008) and brother Douglas Albrecht (2016).

Lori was born at KW Hospital and raised in Waterloo. She graduated from WCI in 1983 and worked in various retail positions until the birth of her children. She was a dedicated stay-at-home Mom until the early 2000s, when she returned to work in retail at Valu-mart (now No Frills). She was a dedicated employee of No Frills until she started her cancer treatments in late 2024.

Lori’s family would like to give special thanks to Hospice Wellington for their endless support during her final days.

Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S, Waterloo, on Thursday, June 5, 2025, from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm. The funeral service will take place at Trillium Lutheran Church, 22 Willow St., Waterloo, on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 11 am. A reception will immediately follow in the fellowship hall and an interment will be held at Parkview Cemetery in Waterloo following the reception.
