Obituary of Tracey Anne Beard

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tracey Beard, who left us peacefully on June 7, 2025, at the age of 63. Born in Kitchener on Halloween of 1961, Tracey had a spark and wit that matched her memorable birthday. She was a loving mother, a fiercely loyal sister, and a proud cat mom to her beloved Rowan.

Tracey is survived by her daughter Jessica, who was her greatest pride and joy. She will also be deeply missed by her siblings: John (Gayle), Trish (Ken), Rosemary (Ron), Kathy (Terry), and Michelle (Ron). She was a cherished godmother to her niece and nephew Kristine and Wesley, and a beloved aunt to Julie, Amy, Ron, Cindy, Jake, Quinn, Scott, Tyler, Andrew, and Sara.

She is reunited now with those who passed before her: her husband and love of her life Dennis Gow, her mother and father Grace Patricia and David, her brother David, and her sister-in-law Carole.

Tracey worked hard all her life — beginning at Kaufman’s Footwear, continuing at Ornamental Mouldings, and finishing her career in the produce department at Zehrs, where she always brought a smile and sharp sense of humour to her coworkers and customers.

She found joy in the simple things: a cup of coffee, painting, watching the birds out her window, and curling up with Rowan by her side. She faced this past year with courage and determination, meeting serious health challenges with grace, grit, and an independence that amazed everyone who knew her. She adapted to a new way of living, proving her strength every step of the way, and making her family incredibly proud.

A celebration of Tracey’s life will take place at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S, Waterloo, on Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This will be an informal gathering — just as Tracey would have wanted — a chance to laugh, share stories, and find comfort in community.

In lieu of flowers, Tracey would have appreciated donations in her memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association, the WRHNF (Waterloo Regional Health Network Foundation), or Pet Patrol, a local cat rescue (because she loved cats).

She lived with heart, loved deeply, and leaves behind a legacy of quiet strength and kindness.
