Passed away at his home on Sunday, June 8, 2025.
Survived by his sons Azat and Ilguiz.
Predeceased by his wife Roza.
Moris retired and moved to Canada with his wife in the early 2000s after his children emigrated. Before that he taught economics, administered the education process at his alma mater Oil Institute, Ufa, Russia and grew a summer house garden with apples, raspberries, cherries and much more. He spoke Tatar, Russian and some English, with less skill in small talk. He took up driving (rare then and there) but it was too much hassle. He was interested in Persian poetry. He did not cook. Roza carried the weight of the family care, her career and the family’s socializing.
Special thanks to Ontario At Home Care Partners, doctors, staff, pharmacists, specialists in Kitchener and London, neighbours and workers of Eastwood Community. Moris’s life was happier with you. The Russian speaking community shared their celebrations, grief and shame. Moris attended delivery of food to a few local Ukrainian families.
Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Thursday, June 12, 2025, between 1:00 p.m. and 2:15 p.m. The funeral service will take place in the chapel of the funeral home at 2:30 p.m., followed by the interment at Williamsburg Cemetery, Kitchener. A livestream and a recording of the service will be made available on Moris’s tribute page at www.erbgood.com.
In lieu of flowers, condolences for the family and donations to The Grassroots Response to the Ukrainian Crisis may be arranged through the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street S. Waterloo, at www.erbgood.com.
