Obituary of Enid Pearl Fenton

October 23, 1934 - June 15, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our much-loved Mom, Nonny, sister, and friend on Sunday, June 15, 2025.

Enid was born in Paisley, Ontario on October 23, 1934 to Annie and David McGregor, she was the third youngest of ten children. Enid was predeceased by her soul mate and loving husband Peter Fenton, her parents, and seven siblings and their spouses Dorothy (Lawrence), Francis (Stewart), Duncan (Betty), Jean (John), Jack (Peggy), Helen (Willard), Verna (Andy).

Enid is survived by her children Sandy, Andrew (Nancy), Janice (Greg-deceased), Sharron (Allan), Shelley (Tom), and her grandchildren Tanner, Samuel, Nicole, Owen, Melody, Isaac, and Madeline, brother Jimmy (Jean), sister Vivian, and life-long family friend Connie.  She loved animals and over the years she also cared for her many four-legged grand-fur babies.

Enid was beautiful inside and out. With a quiet strength and unwavering courage, she moved through life with kindness, thoughtfulness, generosity, and a lightness that made her a joy to be around. She worked hard, lived fully, and lifted those around her with her warm smile and compassionate heart.

She had an entrepreneurial spirit, once owning a hair salon and restaurant before transitioning into food service management, where her dedication and natural leadership continued to shine. She was an exceptional cook and a talented baker, butter tarts being a family favourite.  Creative at heart, she spent time crafting and crocheting, pouring love into everything she made. She was a devoted Toronto Blue Jays and Raptors fan, always cheering with enthusiasm. She had a deep appreciation for nature and the simple beauty of life. Whether fishing, traveling, or simply enjoying time outdoors, she embraced life with open arms and an open heart.

Her love for her family was the center of her world, she was happiest when surrounded by loved ones, especially her grandchildren, who brought her endless pride and joy. Her presence was our bright light, a source of inspiration, steady strength, and comfort in both everyday moments and life’s hardest times.

Recently, Enid was supported and cared for by an inspiring team at her home while she courageously lived with brain cancer after her surgery in 2022.   We sincerely thank Dr Wilhelm, Dr Sharma, Dr Evans, Dr Halligan and their amazing team at Ontario Health at Home, Rebuild physiotherapist Eric, and Fairview Community Services.  It was through Fairview that she met her two earth angels Durrah and Christine who became loving dear friends to mom and family to us all.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the incredible staff and volunteers at Lisaard House for the care and compassion shown to Mom, helping her journey be one of peace and dignity.  We are also very grateful for their support, guidance and kindness to us during this most difficult time.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no funeral service, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life to honor the beautiful soul she was will be held at Sharron's house on Sunday, August 17, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Please contact a family member directly for address information.

For those who wish to honor her memory, donations may be made to Lisaard House, the KW Humane Society, Brain Cancer Canada, Memorial Tree Planting (by clicking here), or a charity of your choice, and these donations may be arranged through www.erbgood.com.
