It is with deep sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved Permaul Seenwasan, age 86, who peacefully left us on June 29th, 2025 surrounded by his family at St. Mary’s Hospital, Kitchener.
Born on May 27th, 1939, in Albion, Guyana, to Seenwasan and Rajama Rajgopal, Permaul was the eldest son of seven siblings. As a dedicated worker, he spent many years as a dragline operator at the Albion Sugar Estate, where he worked hard to provide for his late wife, Marayi Seenwasan, and their six children. In 1986, he later migrated to Canada with his family to begin a new chapter in life.
Permaul is survived by his two siblings, Latcho and Sunny; five sons, Madray, Sammy (Pam), Chin (Baby), Ramo (Tresha), Narine (Lori) and Daughter Shanta (Rishi), his eight grandchildren; Christina (Vishal), Anil, Laura (Joe), Sunil, Jason, Nathan, Anjali, Melissa and two great-grandchildren; Katie and Olivia.
He was a man of quiet strength who will be remembered for his steady presence, gentle nature and deep love for his family. He was a devoted partner, patient and supportive father and a proud grandfather. His life was rooted in simple values: hard work, kindness, generosity and showering love to all those he was surrounded by.
He will be remembered with endless love and respect by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday, July 4, 2025 from 5 – 9 p.m. The final rites will be performed on Saturday, July 5, 2025 from 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Cremation to follow.
