Obituary of Susan Clara Stevenson

Gently slipped away after a brief illness on Friday, July 4, 2025 at the age of 79. 

 

Survived by her daughters Wendy Williams (James) and Lois Dunlop (Kyle), her grandsons Alexander, Jack, and Aaron, and her sisters-in-law Eleanor and Carol. 

 

Predeceased by her husband Murray Stevenson, parents Edward and Selma Reichert, brother Laverne, siblings-in-law Gordon, Stuart, Mary, Ruth, Bill, Rita, Goldie, Glenn, and John, and her parents-in-law John and Pearl.

 

Susan worked as a seamstress for over 60 years. She was the family matriarch and keeper of stories and traditions. She was known as the organizer of events and parties, and a surrogate mom to many. She will be deeply missed.

 

Special thanks to Dr. Kim and the palliative nurses at WRHN – Chicopee Campus for their compassionate care.

 

Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, July 10 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Friday, July 11 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Trillium Lutheran Church, 22 Willow St., Waterloo on Saturday, July 12 at 11:00 a.m, with a reception to follow in the church's fellowship hall. Interment at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 2723 Victoria St. N., Breslau.

  

In lieu of flowers, condolences for the family and donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, or Alzheimer Society of Kitchener-Waterloo may be arranged through www.erbgood.com.
