Obituary of Willi Keller
Passed away peacefully at Sunnybrook Hospital, Toronto, on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at the age of 87.
Beloved husband and best friend of Christina “Tina” (née Dawitschek), with whom he shared 63 wonderful years of marriage. Loving father of William “Bill” (Vikky), Brian (Jennifer), and Peter (Irene). He will be fondly remembered by his seven grandchildren and cherished by his twin great-grandchildren.
Born in Hungary during the dawn of WW2, Willis first years were filled with heartbreak. By the time he was 13 his family home and farm had been taken from them. His brother had died in the war, and both his parents were dead.
Fortunately at the age of 17 he emigrated to Canada, where he met the love of his life Christina. Together they would raise three boys and watch them turn into outstanding men. (Especially the eldest) Willi worked at Uniroyal in Kitchener for 30 years, retiring in 1992. He was built for retirement. He loved working in his yard and garden, and was very handy. He was also the best father and grandfather that one could ask for. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was always there when needed. His memory was uncanny. He was sharp and witty. Traits that live on in his eldest child. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. And if you should happen to run into him at another place, in another time, introduce yourself as Cliff, and tell him to drop over sometime…..
Predeceased by his parents, Michael and Mary (née Steierhoffer), and siblings Michael, Frances, Teresa, Katerina, Mary and Joseph.
Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. The funeral service will follow the visitation in the chapel of the funeral home on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. The interment will immediately follow the service at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
