Obituary of Hia Ngo-Trinh

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Hia at her residence on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the age of 84. 

Beloved wife of Chau Trinh.  Loving mother of Lien, Lan (Thanh), Duc (Ha), Ken (Linh), Ann (Quang), Tammy (Thai). Cherished grandmother of Michelle, Ivan, Teresa, Landon, Valerie, Ashley, Victoria, Emily, Melanie, Jenny, Sarah and Ryan.   

Hia is survived by her sister Xieu Ky Ngo and her brothers Lee Ngo and Minh Chanh Ngo.  She was predeceased by her brothers Kim Xe Ngo, Bi Chau Ngo and Peter Ngo and her parents An Tran and Kiet Ngo.

Hia and her husband immigrated to Canada with their six children in the hope of securing a brighter future for her young family.  Hia led her life to her fullest and always put her children’s needs ahead of hers.  She will be remembered as a great cook who made many authentic meals, someone who always spoke her mind and fought to the end no matter what life dealt her. 

At the time of her passing, Hia could proudly declare that all six children were leading fruitful and fulfilling lives, a testament to her unwavering resilience and perseverance.  Her lasting legacy will live on in the collective hearts of her family and will be forever remembered and loved.

Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 from 6:30 – 9 p.m. A private funeral service will take place with immediate family in the chapel of the funeral home on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 11 a.m. Cremation will follow the service.  A private family interment will be held at Williamsburg Cemetery, Kitchener.
