Obituary of Peter Douglas McCullough

Passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 12, 2025, with family by his side at Lisaard House, Cambridge, Ontario.

Survived by his mother, Janet McCullough, sister Louise (Bill) Hackett, son Cory McCullough (Angela Renner), daughter Jenna Martin (Justin Martin) and his grandchildren, Treyton & Evelynn Martin, Brynlee & Emrie McCullough and his beloved girlfriend Alena Kytka.

Predeceased by his Father, Mervin McCullough.

Peter was a man who lived life with an open heart and a vibrant spirit. He cherished the outdoors, embraced every moment with joy, and always sought opportunities to dance through life. His presence was a light to everyone around him, a comfort in times of need, and a reminder that we all have a place to belong. Whether offering words of wisdom or simply sharing a laugh, Peter had a rare gift of making each person feel truly seen.

"Wow, what a trip," Peter often said, a sentiment he shared when meeting interesting and inspiring people. Little did he know, it was his own journey, his own story, that will forever remain the most special.

In the face of challenges, Peter never wavered. His resilience and positive attitude were contagious, inspiring all who knew him to rise with hope and strength. His impact on this world was immeasurable, and his energy, boundless. He was a beacon of joy and a friend to all.

As we say goodbye, we will forever carry the memories of his kindness, his love, and his unforgettable way of bringing people together. In his heart, Peter always danced with the ones he loved, and now, he continues to dance in our hearts.

We love you, Peter. You were, without a doubt, one of the best.

As the Eagles so beautifully sang, "Take it easy, take it easy. Don't let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy." In honour of Peter, we will hold onto that peace and joy, carrying his light with us always.

Rest in peace, Peter. Your trip has been unforgettable.

Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
