I had the deep pleasure of meeting Jitka October of 2024. I became her PSW and was able to have chit chats almost every day for noon. I adored this beautiful and strong woman. She deeply loved her family. And, took pride in each and every one of them. She always had a smile, even when she wasn't doing well. I am honored I was able to meet such a loving person. She will be missed.

Working beside Jitka at the Davis Library Info Desk was a treat. With her wit, charm and razor sharp brain time passed quickly. My husband and I looked after her dog Buddy one weekend. Jitka said he liked being off leash. We complied. He disappeared. He knew how to get home. Relief. We watched Mirka’s daughters grow up as Jitka brought them to the dept regularly. Jitka’s face lit up in a smile as she introduced them. I am happy she was able to travel and ski. So long With love. Anne & Mark

It was a pleasure to know Ms.Dvoracek almost my entire life. I grew up with Mike and was always at his house from childhood through adulthood. Ms. Dvoracek was part of some of the fondest memories of my life. She was always a gracious host who showed a lot of kindness no matter what we were up to. I especially remember Ms. Dvoracek taking Mike and I on day trips to the Elora Quarry and Grandbend and dropping us off to start our fishing trips down the Grand River. Shelley and I will miss Ms.Dvoracek and my thoughts go out to Mike, Vlad, and Mirka.

Thanks for posting the photos; I hadn't seen Jitka and her family for many years and wondered how all were doing. I worked with Jitka at the Davis Centre (and previously EMS) Library and have fond memories of her gentle ways, her quiet laughter and her practicality. I am in awe of her athleticism and I believe it helped keep her family together during the tough years after her husband died. She was one of a kind and will be sorely missed. Best wishes to you all.

I'm saddened to hear of Jitka's passing. My condolences to all of the family. Jitka joined me and Chicopee Ski Friends on several of our annual ski trips. Jitka was always smiling and was one of my Czech Mafia ladies! The nickname always made her laugh. RIP Jitka ❤️ Your Ski Friend Ozzie
