Obituary of Marlene Mary Denomme

November 4, 1938 – August 4, 2025

With love in our hearts, we announce the passing of Marlene Denomme on Monday, August 4, 2025, at the age of 86. Marlene lived a life filled with passion, joy and faith, and leaves behind a legacy that carries on in every life she touched.

For 69 years, her beloved husband Joseph was always by her side. Their love and dedication to one another was a gift, one that neither of them took for granted. In their partnership they found the peace to welcome and embrace the joys that life would bring them, and the strength to face the challenges that would come their way.

Marlene’s greatest joy was her family. Together with Joe, she raised six children, Tom (Mary Anne), Ron (Barb), Terry (Maria), Rick (Brenda), Jamie (Tina), and Diane (Greg). Her children were her world, and she was theirs.

As her family grew, Marlene showered her 15 grandchildren with this same love. She was the proud grandmother to Annie (Kyle), Luke (Megan), Melissa (Scott), Stephanie (Jordan), Kyla (Christian), Jessica (Nick), Joey (Amrita), Renee, Chase (Karolina), Taylor (Paige), Zach (Tessa), Kelsey (Michael), Marley (Dylan), Kale (Chloe) and Taryn (Cameron). She found great happiness in being “GG” to her 16 great-grandchildren Mary, Francis, Walker, Jackson, Owen, Everly, Liam, Theo, Oliver, Pearl, Gia, Edison, Amelia, Henry, Olivia, and Nash.

Marlene was predeceased by her beloved parents John and Mary Weber, and her siblings Alice (Wayne) Osier, Howard (Edna) Weber, Irene (Herbert) Detzler, Jim (Cathy) Weber and Rita (Lloyd) Hauser. She was also predeceased by her in-laws, Juliette and Armand Denomme, Ambrose Denomme, Benjamin (Lillian) Denomme, Clemence (Geraldine) Denomme, Lucienne (Eldon) Denomme, Albert Denomme, Tillie (Henry) Rau and Michael Hartman. She will be fondly remembered by her brothers/sisters-in-law, Marion Denomme, George (Annette) Denomme, Peter (Gisele) Denomme and Yvonne Hartman.

Throughout her life Marlene’s strength was unparalleled. She spent every day determined to live life to the fullest, regardless of the challenges she was facing. Even on her hardest days, you could always count on a bright smile or a mischievous joke breaking through.

Her vivacious spirit made even the smallest moments seem momentous. It is these not so small memories that will stay with her family forever. Her and Joe smoothly dancing across the floor, seemingly unaware all eyes are on them. A prank she played on one of her grandkids, and the laugh she would let out once it was done. A quiet moment of her singing along, eyes closed, as her sons play their guitars. These small glimpses into the life of a woman so filled with joy, she spread it everywhere she went.

Marlene’s family will receive visitors at Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St S, Waterloo on Sunday, August 10, 2025 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM.
