Obituary of Guenter Franz Schultz

With sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Guenter Franz Schultz on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at the age of 86.

Guenter will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Simone Schultz (née Albert), sons Christian Schultz (Lynette Oreste) and Roland Schultz (Mélinda Cart), sister Edith Wolter, brother Hartmut Schultz, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Hermann and Ida Schultz.

Born in Stettin, Germany on November 25, 1938, Guenter immigrated to Canada in 1960. He met his beloved wife Simone in 1965. He was an avid fan of Schalke 04 (the soccer team), and enjoyed travelling out west to visit his boys. Guenter was the proud owner of a VW Thing, and a longtime member of the KW Bug Club. 

Cremation has taken place. Friends and relatives are invited to a Celebration of Guenter’s Life at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, August 28, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., with remarks to be shared at 2:30 p.m. A private family interment will be held at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
