Obituary of Norbert "Bobby" Cowan

Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at the age of 84.

Loving father of Lee Ann (Kevin) Lobsinger.  Cherished Papa of Faith (Toufigh), Ashley, Sam and the late Abigayle (2020), who remains forever in the hearts of family.

Bob dedicated nearly 50 years of his life to the Heidelburg Hotel, becoming not just a familiar face, but a beloved part of its legacy. Known for his strong work ethic, quick wit, and warm, welcoming nature, he formed friendships that lasted well beyond the job.

To his family, he will always be remembered simply and fondly as “Papa.” He cherished time with his granddaughters, taking them fishing, visiting the St. Jacobs Farmers Market, and creating memories that will be treasured for a lifetime.

A loving grandfather to Faith, Ashley, Sam, and Abigayle, Bob will be forever remembered for his kindness, humor, and unwavering love.

Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Monday, September 1, 2025 from 2 – 4 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. The funeral service will take place in the chapel of the funeral home on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at 11 a.m., followed by a reception in the Kuntz House of the funeral home. Interment to follow at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
