Obituary of Sharon Kerr Varley (nee Sheppard)

After a brief illness, Sharon died on Saturday afternoon, September 13, 2025 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Kitchener, in her 78^th year. She was the only child of late Dorothy and Robert (Bert) Sheppard and the beloved wife and partner of David.

Sharon was born in Montreal and came to Waterloo with her parents in 1969 when her father was transferred here. Sharon graduated from Dunton High School (Montreal) and earned her BA at Wilfrid Laurier University. She was employed by Wilfrid Laurier University for several years in the department of Continuing and Distance Education.

She found incredible happiness in looking after and loving her kitties, Harley and Brandy, and after her mother’s death, her cat Minoo.

A Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home’s chapel on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., with Dr. Shelley Tidy officiating. A reception will immediately follow in the Kuntz House.
