Obituary of Frederick Victor Payne

Born in Toronto, Ontario, on February 12, 1934, Fred passed away peacefully at Lanark Heights LTC in Kitchener on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at the age of 91. He is survived by his loving wife, Ivy, of 69 years; his daughter, Kathy (Bill); his son, Jeff (John); and his sister, Doreen Marshall. Cherished Papa of granddaughter, Kendall (Mike), and great granddaughter, Kallista. He was predeceased by his parents, Victor and Lily Payne.

Fred enjoyed sports of all kinds, having played football and hockey in his younger years. In his older years, he was an avid skier, squash player and golfer. Fred enjoyed a long career at IBM Canada, having joined the organization in 1953 upon his graduation from Danforth Tech, Toronto.

Cremation has taken place. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no funeral service.
