It is with great sadness and shock to find out Dave has passed. He was a gentleman and person of high moral standards. Dave set a high standard for us all by the way he lived and treated others. He always greeted you with an inviting smile. He never would seek to be in the spotlight but was a man of action and strong convictions. He made his mark in the Environmental Education field by his tireless committee work and advocations. Dave was an outstanding teacher of environmental science and music who walked his talk in his daily life. His students felt his sincerity and passion for solving environmental problems. Dave was a positive person with a great sense of humour which is why others were drawn to him. We certainly need more people in the world like Dave at this present time.
Some people come into your life and quickly pass, others leave a footprint on your heart and you are never the same. Dave left a big footprint on many students and friends including me. I will miss him.

My condolences to the family. Mr. Arthur taught me music during the mid to late 70"s. He was always up for a challenge in our music class when we wanted to play tunes from "Chicago". He also taught me to enjoy all types of music and always had this terrific smile while teaching his class. There are too few teachers we do remember as our lives go on but he is one who has always been held in my memory of being one of the best!

In my 30 years in the KWSymphony, I always enjoyed my interesting chats with Dave - whether he was behind me in the Grand Philharmonic Choir, or as a loyal audience member. Some of my fondest childhood memories include waking up to the smell of his big blueberry pancakes after sleepovers, and being welcomed at the family cottage. My thoughts and prayers are extended to Mr.Arthur’s family during this sad time. I have great memories during music class of Mr. Arthur calmly and confidently orchestrating the off beat drummer, the high pitched screams of the clarinets, the breathy flutes, and the over bearing trumpets and trombones. He was always optimistic and gave us hope that this mash we produced would one day come together and be coherent for all passersby. Rest in peace Mr Arthur, you inspired many.

I will never forget Mr. Arthur as my physics teacher at Cameron Heights C.I. Mr. Arthur was a fantastic teacher making it very easy to like physics. I especially remember him explaining how to do a physics problem with his chalk, printing away vigorously while he explained and sliding the green boards over so he could keep doing his calculations. Always so helpful when the problems became really challenging. My condolences to his family and loved ones.

To the Arthur family I wish to express my deepest sympathy. My son Jeffrey was a music student at forest hts and David was there for him right when he needed that encouragement and caring. He was inspired to be a better student and person because of David. Jeff even arranged a musical tribute when “ Mr Arthur” was leaving to move to Cameron. I will always remember this.

It was with deep sadness that I learned of Dave's passing.
40 years ago, we met at Cameron, and I had the delightful experience of sharing an office with Dave. His engagement, his wisdom and his sense of humour made those early days that much easier. There was always something to chat about!
