Marilyn enjoyed an independent life style filled with supporting her husband Peter Etril’s art business (ran his Painting Framing Company and assisted with drafting his books), gardening, reading and travel, especially to the United Kingdom and Florida. She and Pete remained active during much of their lives with regular exercise including walking, horse back riding and playing tennis. Early in her adult life she helped run the local Book Mobile service and throughout her days was an avid crossworder. She  generously supported the New Hamburg Relief Sale by purchasing many of their top quilts. Marilyn and Pete enjoyed fine dining, frequenting many top restaurants locally and internationally…also through outstanding hosting in their home. She completed a BA at Laurier and also graduated from Ontario College of Art in Toronto.

Marilyn’s health failed in recent years and for their competent care we sincerely thank Terrace In The Square in Waterloo and Winston Park-Emma’s Neighbourhood in Kitchener. Both of these fine facilities made things easier for her. She also received superb support from a small Care Team composed of family and close friends. Each visit and interaction was greeted with her charming smile and often with tears of love. Kudos to all who made her life so much more enjoyable.

At Marilyn’s request there will be no funeral service or visitation. Cremation has occurred. A private event to celebrate her life will take place at a later date. Charities Marilyn supported include KidsAbility and Mennonite Central Committee. Contributions may be arranged through the  Erb & Good Funeral Home website www.erbgood.com or by calling 519-745-8445.
