It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Kathryn Good on October 1, 2025, at Rotary Hospice Stratford Perth. Meticulous and organized, she had a natural gift for planning and coordinating, traits that enriched both her work and personal relationships.

She is survived by her brother John (Fern) Good, and lovingly remembered by her nieces Caralee, Rachelle (Clyde) Matava, and Rosanne (Marty) Robinson. Kathryn was a cherished great-aunt to Christopher, Jesse, Isaac, Curtis, and Samantha. She was predeceased by her parents, Cranson and Violet Good, and by her sister Elizabeth Ann (1947).

Kathryn's career was marked by purpose and global service. Being born and raised on a farm in what was then a very conservative Mennonite community did not prevent her from going far and contributing much. She worked for 10 years at Kaufman Footwear in Kitchener before dedicating nearly three decades to the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) and Mennonite World Conference (MWC). Her work took her around the world, with postings in Akron, Pennsylvania; India; Bangladesh; Calgary, Alberta; Carol Stream, Illinois and Kitchener, Ontario.

A passionate traveler, Kathryn shared her love of exploration by taking each of her nieces on memorable trips to Europe. Music played a central role in her life—she sang in choirs, trios, and quartets, and often led congregational singing in the churches she attended.

In retirement, Kathryn expressed her creativity through crocheting, lovingly crafting afghans and prayer shawls and knotting comforters for others. She also found joy in simple pleasures—reading, solving puzzles, tending to flower beds, mowing the lawn, and walking the quiet country roads she loved.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial visitation at Waterloo North Mennonite Church, 100 Benjamin Road, Waterloo, on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 2–4 p.m. and 6–8 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the church on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 11 a.m. A livestream and recording of the memorial service will be available via Kathryn’s tribute page at www.erbgood.com.

Interment will occur at Wilmot Mennonite Church Cemetery, 2995 Bleams Rd., New Hamburg.

In lieu of flowers, condolences for the family or donations to House of Friendship, Mennonite World Conference, or Rotary Hospice Stratford Perth may be arranged through the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home at 519-745-8445 or at www.erbgood.com.
