Obituary of Olena Lautenschlager

Passed away peacefully on October 4, 2025, at the age of 92. 

Olena was born in Erbsville, Ontario on December 28, 1932. 

She married William Lautenschlager on February 23, 1952, and they enjoyed 68 years of marriage together. 

Dear mother of Brian (Stacey) Lautenschlager and Brenda Lautenschlager. 

Dear sister of Orland (Catherine) Thuroo from Hanna Alberta. 

Olena was predeceased by her parents, Wilhelm Thuroo and Wilhelmina (Ebel), husband William in 2020, her son Barry in 1981, by her sisters Olga, Elva, Era, Oma and Ona (in infancy) and by her brothers, Oscar, Edgar, Eldon and Elmer. 

She will be remembered by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews in the USA, Ontario and Alberta. 

Olena was a longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Waterloo. 

A gathering to celebrate Olena’s life will take place at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S, Waterloo on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Interment to follow at Parkview Cemetery.
