Obituary of Kirk Allan Walker
June 10, 1955 - October 7, 2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Kirk Allan Walker, much loved husband, father, son, brother-in-law, father-in-law, uncle, and friend, who passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by love and his family. Kirk was 70 years old and recently celebrated his 45th wedding anniversary with his dearest love, Lynn.
Kirk is survived by his beloved wife, best friend, and soulmate - Lynn (née Pychel), his children - Erin (Steven), Brad (Olivia), and Deanna (Chris), his father - Reginald Walker, his mother-in-law - Mary Pychel, his brother-in-law - Brian Pychel (Lisa), his niece and nephews - Ashley (Paul), Robert, and Michael (Chloe), and his great-niece - Ava. He was predeceased by his mother - Marian Walker, and his father-in-law - Joseph Pychel. He will be dearly missed by his feline companion, Claire.
Born in Hamilton on June 10, 1955, Kirk was a man of unwavering dedication to his family, who had a tireless work ethic that inspired all who knew him. Whether through his gentle wisdom, his great sense of humour, or his steady presence, he touched the lives of many, and left a legacy of love and resilience for his family. He will forever be remembered for his quick wit, fun-loving and positive spirit, and ability to bring smiles to everyone around him, especially with his non-stop puns! He had the great gift of lifting the spirits of those he loved and knew, creating lasting memories with his family and friends.
Kirk was the ultimate family man and loved his children dearly. He leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion in his three children and many grandpets, who he is so proud of. Whether it was through coaching their baseball teams, attending school events, graduations, musical concerts and plays, helping them move in and out, or even helping each of them buy their first homes, he was always there to celebrate his children’s passions and achievements. Kirk’s support for his family was unwavering and unconditional, and he was the greatest role model. His children will always cherish his acts of kindness, including driving hours in the night to be there to support them at a moment’s notice, without question. The memorable “meatball test” is just one example of the meaningful family traditions that they will pass along to their future families.
Kirk graduated from Grand River Collegiate and continued his education at Conestoga College where he graduated with a diploma in Sales and Marketing. He earned his private pilot license, before becoming the youngest sales representative for J.M. Schneiders at the age of 19. Kirk continued to excel in various sales roles throughout his career, eventually continuing his passion for salesmanship as a real estate representative and broker, starting at Coldwell Banker Peter Benninger Realty-Brokerage, and culminating his career at Re/Max Twin City Realty Inc. His dedication towards helping others and making a difference in his community shone through in his ability to connect with clients and make everyone’s day a little brighter. Whether it was finding the perfect home for a first-time home buyer, or assisting a senior and their family with selling a home to relocate to a retirement home, he took great care in attending to the needs of all of his clients. Kirk treated each individual with the utmost respect and compassion, and guided them expertly through the entire process.
Kirk always believed in advocacy and giving back to the community. He had a love for community service, and played a significant role within many community organizations. He was honoured by the Waterloo Regional Police Service in 2017 for his commitment and contributions to community service, and played a vital role in advancing emergency resources that emergency services continue to use to this day.
As expressions of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations in Kirk’s name to the Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo & Stratford Perth, or to the charity of your choice. Cremation has taken place and a small family gathering will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.
We will miss him dearly, and take comfort in knowing that his spirit lives on in the hearts of those he loved and who loved him in return. Kirk’s legacy of love, laughter, compassion, and family devotion will always be remembered by all who knew him.
