Obituary of Allen Peter Mondor

It is with broken hearts that we are sharing the sad news of Allen’s passing. Son of Evelyn and Norm, brother to Phil and Andrew, brother-in-law to Robin and Julie, and uncle to Lauryn, Elliot, Max and Nora.

Allen dove full in when it came to the things he loved doing and sharing it with those around him. From his culinary creations with unusual ingredients (you want us to eat what?), to his love of cinema (you wanted to be on his Scene It? team), to his ability to capture pure moments with his camera. He immersed himself in each new interest and excitedly introduced others to what he was learning and creating.

Sports often filled Allen’s days. A natural athlete from the start (he was a sponsored snowboarder with Billabong in high school) he loved watching all sports, especially the Blue Jays, football, tennis and the Olympics. And in between his sports, you would hear him chuckling as he watched his favourite TV shows.

Allen loved being in nature, hiking or kayaking along the Grand River, camping, or simply enjoying being in the backyard, often with camera in hand, in case a moment arose that he wanted to capture.

Allen grew up surrounded by his extended Mondor and Bender families, with an abundance of aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him.

We will miss his quick wit and sense of humor, his laugh and his smile.
