Obituary of Hilda Nay

Passed away peacefully with her family by her side on October 8, 2025 at the age of 99. Predeceased by her husband Robert (Bob) Nay (1996), as well as her parents Carl and Emma Dreher, her brothers Eric, William and Harry. Loving mother to Robert Jr. (Corina), John (Shari) and Sandra. Proud Grandmother to Kaitlin Wortley (Matt), John Jr Nay (Shay), Jasmine Nay.  3 Great Grandchildren.

Hilda was born and raised in Waterloo, life long member of St John’s Lutheran Church (Trillium). She enjoyed her needle crafts throughout her years (knitting sweaters, needlepoint and quilting). She also hosted for over 30 years the King Street North Waterloo Ladies monthly card parties with great zest.

Post retirement, her travel adventures including to UK, Scotland, Hawaii, Panama, California.  She had a wonderful lust to travel and enjoyed travelling with Dad and others throughout her life.

Upon passing of Bob, she moved to Point Clark to enjoy the many sunrises and sunsets on Lake Huron. If you were looking for Mom, she was sitting on her deck enjoying the fresh outdoors with a cup of coffee. Or the Oldsmobile would leave her driveway to go get some milk and the morning newspaper up to the Amberley store. She didn’t hesitate to pick up her Point Clark friends and go for a car ride throughout Huron County. As the saying goes “not a cloud in the sky, lets go for a drive”. She was also the Past Vice President of the Lakeshore Friendship Club in Point Clark.

A life well lived with her family and her many friends.

Hilda’s kindness, warmth and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her and loved her.

We will be forever grateful for the care from Wendy and the PSW’s at Columbia Forest Long Term Care.  Thank-you for their passion to keep Mom comfortable.

Cremation has taken place. A family interment will take place at Parkview Cemetery.
